About the lecture

In this module, we explore the labour demand in more detail. In particular, we look at: (i) the make-up of labour demand; (ii) the labour demand curve for a perfectly competitive market; (iii) shifts of the labour demand curve; and (iv) the elasticity of labour demand.

About the lecturer

Dr Stefania Simion is a Senior Lecturer in Economics the University of Bristol. She specialises in the areas of the economics of education, gender economics and labour economics. With this in mind, she has published widely, including 'Charging for Higher Education: Estimating the Impact on Inequality and Student Outcomes' (The B.E. Journal of Economic Analysis & Policy, 2021) and 'Exposing the Glass Ceiling: Hiring Practices and Gender Equality in the UK Labour Market' (CAGE Advantage Magazine, Autumn 2020).
