In this module, we explore what economics is and have a closer think about production. In particular, we focus on: (i) the question of what gets produced and who benefits from production; (ii) defining economics; (iii) how do we think about the economy, society and the biosphere; (iv) how things get made, including a discussion of the factors of production; (v) the relationships between firms, households and the biosphere; and (vi) the costs of the factors of production.
