In this course, Professor Sandy Steel (University of Oxford) explores vicarious liability. In the first module, we introduce the doctrine of vicarious liability. In the second module, we look at the relationship condition of vicarious liability, before turning to the course of relationship condition in the third module. In the fourth module, we examine some justifications for vicarious liability.

Vicarious Liability

In this module, we explain vicarious liability, focusing in particular on (i) the nature of vicarious liability (ii) torts and vicarious liability (iii) the relationship between the tortfeasor and person held vicariously liable (iv) fault and vicarious liability (v) the effect of vicarious liability.
