Types of Non-Fiction

In this course, Dr James Canton (University of Essex) teaches us about different types of non-fiction texts. In the first module, we introduce non-fiction text types. In the second module we investigate travel writing. In the third module we look at review writing, before turning to new nature writing in the fourth module. In the fifth and final module we consider a lesser known form of non-ficiton writing: psychogeography.

Genres of Non-Fiction

In this module, we discuss non-fiction writing and different genres, focusing in particular on (i) the distinction between fiction and non-fiction (ii) common genres of non-fiction (iii) other genres of non-fiction to consider.
