The Labour Market, Healthcare and the COVID-19 Pandemic

In this course, Professor Chris Rauh (University of Cambridge) discusses the COVID-19 Pandemic and its impact on both the labour and healthcare markets. In the first module, we look at the impact of the Pandemic on working from home. Then, we look at the impact of the Pandemic on gender inequality. After this, we look at the impact of the Pandemic on furloughing staff. In the penultimate module, we look at the impact of the Pandemic on sick pay. Finally, we look at the impact of the Pandemic on the healthcare market.

Working From Home

In this module, we look at the impact of the Pandemic on working from home. In particular, we focus on: (i) what sort of workers were able to work fro home during the Pandemic; (ii) who lost their jobs during the Pandemic; (iii) the relationship between working from home and income; and (iv) how the Pandemic has caused the labour market to alter.
