We begin by: (i) outlining the main characteristics of the UK economy; (ii) see how the structure of the UK’s economy has changed in the last century; (iii) investigate the effects of globalisation and foreign direct investment on the UK economy; (iv) understand the regional economic disparities seen in the UK, particularly the North-South divide; before (v) learning more about the challenges facing the modern-day UK economy; and finally (vi) envision future pathways for UK and its economy.

A Profile of the UK Economy

We begin by (i) illustrating the likelihoods of occupations based on one’s birth-year and birthplace, before (ii) understanding how productivity in different economic sectors has shifted and improved in the last 100 years in the UK.
