Predestination

In this course Professor Jon Balserak (University of Bristol) explores the doctrine of predestination. In the first module, we introduce the concept of predestination and provide a definition from John Calvin. In the second module, we examine theological views on human sinfulness. In the third module we consider the doctrine of providence, before turning to objections to this doctrine in the fourth module. In the fifth module, we pull all of our knowledge together thus far to explore the doctrine of predestination in more detail. In the sixth module, we look at changing ideas on heaven and hell in the Christian tradition. In the seventh and final module, we critically evaluate some of the proposed problems with Calvinist predestination.
