Micro – The Labour Market

In this course, Dr Annika Johnson (University of Bristol) and Dr Stefania Simion (University of Bristol) explore the topic of the Labour Market. In the first module, we look at what the labour market is and how its made up in the UK and internationally. After this, we explore the labour supply in more detail. Then we explore the labour demand in more detail. Following this, we look at how labour supply and labour demand come together to form an equilibrium. Then, we explore the effect of trade unions on labour markets. In the penultimate module, we look at the effect of minimum wage legislation on labour markets. In the final module, we explore how discrimination affects labour markets.
