About the lecture
In this module, we think about ways to improve spelling and vocabulary, such as: (i) reading widely; and (ii) using The New Academic Word List (NAWL), which is a list of 963 words that frequently appear in academic texts.
About the lecturer
Dr Sean Sutherland is Senior Lecturer in English Language and Linguistics at the University of Westminster. His research focuses on discourse analysis as a method of data analysis, sociolinguistics, World Englishes, and English as a Lingua Franca. He is the author of A Beginner's Guide to Discourse Analysis (2016).
