About the lecture

In this module, we think about Locke’s Essay Concerning Human Understanding. We explore the general philosophical project of this work and look at some key themes within the Essay, such as empiricism, realism, anti-scepticism and humility.

About the lecturer

Dr Barney Walker is a Teaching Fellow in Philosophy at the University of Warwick. His research focuses on epistemology and philosophy of mind, especially with issues about enquiry, the value of knowledge, and the nature of belief.
