About the lecture

In this module, we provide a broad introduction to the history of Spain up to the mid-15th century, tracing the development of region from its period under the Roman, Visigothic and Umayyad Empires. We also think briefly about the concept of convivencia ('co-existence') between the Christian, Muslim and Jewish communities, whose interactions characterise much of this period.

He specialises in the history and culture of Spain in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, with particular emphasis on religion and the European context.
