BIOGRAPHY

Professor Sarah Badcock is Professor of Modern History in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Nottingham. Her research focuses on power relations between the individual and state through the lenses of revolution, state transformation and punishment in late Imperial and revolutionary Russia. Her most recent publication A prison without walls? Eastern Siberian exile in the last years of Tsarism (2016) explores a snapshot of daily life for exiles in Siberia during the last years of the Tsarist regime, from the 1905 revolution to the collapse of the Tsarist regime in 1917.
