BIOGRAPHY

Dr Simon Huxtable is an Associate Tutor in the School of Historical Studies at Birkbeck, University of London. His research focuses on the history of mass media from the end of World War II to the present from a transnational and comparative perspective.This research has covered a wide range of subjects, from the history of the press in the post-war Soviet Union to television cultures during communism. His most recent publication News from Moscow: Soviet journalism and the limits of postwar reform (2022) provides an insight into the social and cultural history of Soviet journalism after World War II.
