BIOGRAPHY

Ruth Padel is a British poet, novelist, and visiting professor of poetry (King’s College London). A great-great-granddaughter of Charles Darwin, Padel's work engages with natural history, science, and the classical world. She has received a number of awards, including the Cholmondeley Award for poetry and the National Poetry Competition. She has been a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature since 1998. Her most recent novel, "Daughters of the Labyrinth," (2021) interweaves personal and historical narratives to explore themes of identity, family secrets, and the enduring impact of history on the present.
