BIOGRAPHY
Dr Rachel Johnson is Assistant Professor of Modern African History in the Department of History at the University of Durham. Dr Johnson’s research interests are in the contemporary history of South Africa, including gender theory and politics. Some of Dr Johnson’s recent publications include ‘Narrating the nation: Murals and tapestry in the Indian and South African parliaments’ (2016) and ‘Women as a sign of the new? Appointments to South Africa’s constitutional court since 1994’ (2014).
