BIOGRAPHY

Alfonso Del Percio is an Associate Professor of Applied Linguistics at the UCL Institute of Education (IOE). His interests include ethnographic and discourse analytic research. This involves the intersection of language and political economy, focusing on language, migration and governmentality, and the links between language, work, and social inequality. Dr Del Percio’s research has appeared in books published by Routledge, Bloomsbury, Wiley, Oxford University Press, Multilingual Matters, and Suhrkamp, as well as in peer-reviewed journals such as Language & Communication, Language Policy, Pragmatics and Society, Social Semiotics, Applied Linguistics Review, and Language et Société. He is a co-editor of Language, Education and Neoliberalism: Critical Studies in Sociolinguistics and Language and Neoliberal Governmentality. He is currently working on a single-authored book entitled Multilingualism and State Propaganda. Dr Del Percio regularly publishes short ethnographic pieces on his blog: disruptiveinequalities.com.
