About the lecture

In this module, we introduce thinking about the nature of law, focusing in particular on (i) enquiries on the nature of something (ii) enquiries on the nature of law (iii) varieties of laws and norms which govern our lives (iv) theological voluntarism (v) controversies concerning the categorisation of rules, and the nature of law.

About the lecturer

Professor Kevin Toh is a Professor of Philosophy of Law at UCL. His research interests are in jurisprudence, moral philosophy, and constitutional theory. His recent publications include Dimensions of Normativity New Essays on Metaethics and Jurisprudence (2019) and Legal Positivism and Metaethics (2021)
