MASSOLIT is an educational platform hosting short video lectures delivered by leading academics, aimed at GCSE and A Level students. We have an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality resources to schools, with over 9,000 lectures covering the arts, humanities and sciences.

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced and accomplished finance person to join our growing edtech SaaS business.

The Finance Manager will join a small and dynamic team of passionate people, dedicated to providing excellent teaching resources to schools and individuals around the world. Though this is a part-time role, this person will be a key figure within the business and will have a full and varied workload.

The successful candidate can work remotely, but occasional travel to our office in South London will be required (e.g. a few times a year).

Responsibilities will include:

- Developing and managing financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Providing financial analysis and insights to support business decisions.
- Calculating accruals, prepayments and journals.
- Preparing monthly management accounts.
- Managing the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and expense forecasts.
- Overseeing the company's financial reporting and ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitoring and controlling expenses and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
- Developing and implementing financial policies and procedures.
- Collaborating with other departments to support business objectives.
- Leading the finance team and providing mentorship and guidance to team members.

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate is incredibly well organised and can juggle a variety of ongoing tasks. This is the perfect opportunity for someone looking to reduce hours or rejoin the workforce part-time with a dynamic small company.

Must haves:

- Be a strong communicator with extensive knowledge of running a finance function for an ambitious small business.
- Possess strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Excel and Google Suite software are a pre-requisite.

Nice to haves:

- Previous experience at a SaaS startup or SME.
- Prior knowledge of the EdTech industry or a passion for education.
- Extensive knowledge of Xero.
